Volunteer on the Sri Lanka Medicine Short-term Special project

Based in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s largest city, the Short-term Special Medicine project is an exciting opportunity for volunteers to experience and understand the medical systems in a developing country.

Volunteers will be under the supervision of a Projects Abroad Coordinator; and will spend time in the different departments of a general hospital, as well as visit a hospital specialising in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.

During your two or three weeks you will also attend a workshop on medical practices in Sri Lanka, and help directly tackle health issues in the area by taking part in a two-day medical outreach programme in a local community or care centre.

Projects Abroad will arrange a weekend trip to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital, which is an UNESCO World Heritage site.
